We focus on Lithium Manganese Spinel because of its:

  • inherent rate capability
  • high level of safety
  • low cost base materials
  • mature materials and production base

Through our novel cathode preparation, specific anode selection, and calculated cell design, we are able to increase its cycle life three fold, even at elevated temperatures.

Our materials are not rare and expensive like cobalt in LCO and NCA, nor are they effected by wild commodity price swings, such as nickel.

ActaCell’s Proprietary Mn Spinel Chemistry

ActaCell has designed a lithium ion battery based on Lithium Manganese Spinel, but one that has eliminated LMO’s largest weakness, its durability/cycle life. ActaCell batteries offer high cycle life, even at higher temperatures, making it very robust over a wide temperature range, a perfect choice for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) or high power plug in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) applications.
